Amadeus is a sweet gentle pup that likes to snuggle but is still figuring out his developing puppy body and where he is able to fit. He plays well with others, canine and humans, alike. Amadeus is potty-trained as long as his humans are diligent in his outdoor time. Like most kiddos his age, he loves to explore his environment with his mouth (curses to that lack of opposable thumbs!). Amadeaus is still in the late teething stages so the tendency to chew is to be expected, and plenty of appropriate dog-safe toys are necessary. This smart cookie is food-motivated (did someone say "cookie?") which will make continued obedience training, easy. He is learning *sit and *no jump. This boy just wants to please and works hard to be on his best behavior. Fun Amadeaus Fact: He sings..ahem...yodles?... when he wants to converse with you. Whatever it is, we think it's endearing, and we love it. But these soulful stylings make this sweetheart a no-go for apartment living. (There's no accounting for other people's taste.)

Current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. Current on flea preventative and heartworm preventative.

This pet adoption has additional requirements and considerations due to breed and age:

  • For a puppy under 6 months old, please note that we are looking for homes where someone is home frequently, or that arrangements have been made for someone to come home at least once during the day to allow the dog to go out for a potty break. Puppies should remain socialized to other dogs in their formative stages, so homes that can provide exposure to fully vaccinated and healthy well-behaved adult dogs is strongly preferred.
  • A fenced yard is required due to this puppy's age and need for further vaccinations prior to being exposed to areas where stray dogs may have access.
  • The breed of this puppy is not known, therefore a mix of what is considered restricted breeds by homeowners insurance, landlords, and military housing may be present, and may become obvious in appearance as the puppy matures into adulthood. If this is a concern, please consider a more mature dog where the appearance of the breed is more obvious.
  •  It is the applicant's responsibility to know the terms of their homeowner's insurance prior to applying.
  • Due to unknown breeding, this puppy may be more or less than the estimated weight range listed here. Interested families should be open to a varied weight range, and consider both in terms of housing restrictions and personal preference.
  • Landlords may have breed and weight restrictions. It is the responsibility of renters to have spoken with their landlord and reviewed their lease agreement and to have this information available for the application.

*Local adoptions (within 1 hour of New Orleans). We do NOT ship animals. Home check is required, therefore, we will be delivering this dog to your home.

If you have read the information in the links provided above and think that this dog is a fit for your lifestyle and home, please completed a   Dog Adoption Application

Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).
