On Friday, July 31st, a tiny kitten arrived at the local shelter and was immediately rushed to the vet office where her prognosis was deemed to be very grave. She was severely anemic, dehydrated, emaciated, and lethargic. After some critical care, the decision was made to monitor for any progress over the next couple of hours. Truth be told, no one really expected the best, but they thought this tiny little thing deserved to be given as much of a chance as she was willing to muster in fight. A couple of hours later, the kitten with so much to overcome summoned enough strength to accept a "force” feeding. This inspired a member of the staff to take her home for the weekend for close monitoring and TLC. To everyone’s amazement, she was sitting up the next morning and eating gruel out of a bowl when it was placed in front of her. She seemed strong enough to try to bathe and clean up by that afternoon. The improvement in her condition made it possible for her to be assessed further and she was noted to have a severe ear infection. She had a lot going against her, but just as much desire to overcome whatever she was experiencing, and so her determination turned a weekend critical care observation into a foster commitment.
With everything looking like things were finally going this kitten girl's way, she was noted to have a head tilt. It turns out that her ear infection was so severe that her eardrum had ruptured.
Her ear infection has mostly cleared, but it will be some time before we know if her head tilt will be permanent. None of this has stopped Evanna, and it shouldn't stop potential families. Evanna is a typical kitten in every way: she chases other kittens, practices her pouncing skills, plays with all kinds of cat toys, and climbs on kitty towers. And, she doesn't just do it...she just does it all with a little sass. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle...when she doesn’t have a case of the zoomies. When she is content, you can hear her purr for miles. She has been socialized with some other kittens, cats, small dogs, and 1 extra-large dog. After slow and proper introductions, she has shown that she wants to play with all of them, even when some of them were not so eager. She has not been around young children, but with her “go with it” personality, we expect her to do just fine.
Evanna is current on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV & FeLeuk.

Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).
