This sweet sugarface was turned into the local shelter and was dearly missing homelife, confused with no clue why he was there. We are thankful that we were able to bring him into foster care until he gets a second chance to live his golden years with a forever family. Cody is a 9 yr old hound/boxer mix and is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He is housebroken and heartworm negative. He weighs in at 100 pounds, but is overweight. His ideal, healthy weight may be closer to 80 or 85. We've confirmed that this giant teddybear is both youthful in attitude and has an off button and can chill. A great combo!
He quickly enamored those who met him during his shelter stay and this is what the photographer who took Cody's picture had to say: "He was so excited to be around people he just couldn't stand it. I bet he wanted nothing more than to sit outside by you and just chill. I really liked him a lot. When I saw him in the kennel peeping through and I could only see his nose and eyes. He just sat there and people-watched. He grabbed my heart strings for sure."
Cody is current on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworms. He is current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative.
Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish).
Local adoptions preferred (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.
